All In Dead Heart NYC

Hey guys!
Hope you've all been having a good week, we're half way there! As you know I've been tres busy, and I finally have a day off today! Anyway just thought I'd show you my nails for the week; it's Illamasqua Raindrops under Ulta3's over the rainbow.
I'm actually like in love with my nails right now.
Also I just came across this gorgeous menswear collection from Dead Heart NYC- the All In collection. Menswear in fashion always kind of looked the same to me but this collection is extra unique!
I seriously love the last look!! Kind of ties in with all the holographic effect trends happening at the moment. Anyway hope you have a brill day! xxx

Runway Music

Have you guys ever thought about the music they put to runway shows? I've never personally thought about it much when watching shows or writing about them but it kind of sparked in my mind recently that it's interesting. Like the show really wouldn't be the show without the music. It would be such a different essence or atmosphere without it or with different music. I can't imagine a runway show without music, just complete silence. Would it be awkward? Probably, depends what you're going for. It really does make a big difference though.

So I was thinking about that and if I had my own runway show (one day) this is the playlist I would have.

Falling away- Big Scary
Iris- Sleeping with Sirens cover
With me- Sum41
Hands- The Almost
Calling- Sebastion Ingrosso
Lights- Ellie Goulding
Clap your hands- Sia

I'm pretty sure all these songs are walkable too, and obviously there are so many other factors involved in choosing songs but I was thinking I'd start with like soft coutury clothes and end with like more crazy out there creations with this playlist. I'm most likely over thinking this as it's not really happening! What would your runway soundtrack be? Have you ever even thought about how it impacts the show? I'd love to hear some thoughts on this.
Anyway hope you are all having a brilliant day xx

Review: Illamasqua Rubber Brights Serenity

Sometimes when you know something, you just know. You don't need someone to justify it for you and you know its meant to be. When I first laid eyes on Illamasqua's Serenity (from the limited edition Rubber Brights collection- read about it here) I just knew it would be the colour for me. Not to brag or anything, but I was so right. This colour is the colour I have been searching for my whole life.

So basically this polish has a really kind of thin consistency which means you have to put on two coats, but I promise it's worth it! After you double dose on the coating the nail varnish dries to a really cool matte finish which I love.

Just a tip, the one thing you shouldn't do here is topcoat, I wouldn't usually say that but I think to put a topcoat on this particular polish would ruin the matte finish and the overall look of it. Not only that, but you really don't need it because it's chip resistant anyway! It's a win win situation, you get a gorgeous manicure which actually lasts and you get to save your precious top coat for the nailpolishes that aren't up to standard. I've been waiting a few days to post this to see how long it would last, I'm on day 5 and still no chips. With everything that I do, 5 days is a solid amount of time for a polish to last. Still going strong.

If you know me, you know I'm a crazy nail fanatic. Crazy nail fanatic here definitely recommends! Anywho if you haven't already, check out the other colours in the range here.
Hope you're having a fantabulous day! xxx

Behind the scenes at Jennifer Kate 2014 SS Lookbook shoot

Today I had the amazing opportunity of being behind the scenes at the Jennifer Kate label's spring summer 2014 lookbook shoot. I seriously love seeing things in the making and this was just such a relaxed environment to learn about fashion and lookbooks. I want to start my own range eventually and as my first lookbook shoot it was great to see how it was done.

The looks were shot in the cutest little studio (Daniel Noone's studio) with a ridiculously beautiful model (Jessica Moore) and styled by HC styling. If you want to know more about the range head to my 2threads page.

Anyway here's your first behind the scenes photos!

Editorial: Charlotte Not For Free (Numero)

Throw a bunch of pretty colours, a pretty model and a bunch of pretty clothes in a room and what do you get? Charlotte (Not For) Free by Eric Guillemain. Featured in Numero Tokyo magazine in May last year, Charlotte not for Free represents all of my childhood candy dreams.
This may be irrelevent but if you have time listen to this song from about one minute onwards. It's intense but it's really cool, I promise.

Hope you're having a most incredible day xxx

Lover the Label A/W 2013 collection: Nocturnal

While I was backstage earlier this week I got to view some amazing collectons but one that caught my eye from the beginning was Lover's A/W 2013 Collection; Nocturnal. The collection has to be one of the most beautiful I've seen. The pieces are so simple yet the addition of close detailing is absolutely gorgeous, the entire collection is so stunning. I also love the way it was shot! So simple and elegant.
This top is my absolute top piece. I actually got a picture of Rachel Rutt wearing it at the DJ's show.
Well half of it anyway...Rose Smith wears Gary Bigeni. But yes as soon as I saw this piece I fell in love, it's impossible to keep your eyes off the fab cuts in the detailing. It's so sleek and modern, I don't think I've seen this in any other collection so far. Anyway here are some other pieces in this collection. Hope you're having a brilliant day, wherever you are! xx

David Jones Autumn Winter 2013 Launch

I have been having the most brilliant time at the DJs A/W 2013 fashion launch. It's the first fashion show I've dressed at and it's sooo fun. The clothes are gorgeous, the girls are gorgeous, the boys are gorgeous and it's all just so glamorous. I'm so stoked to be a part of it.
I had the chance of dressing this gorgeous girl, Rose Smith.

She's sooo stunning. I actually look like a potato next to her. Anyway as I said it's been amazing and tonight is the last night. I've mainly been fangirling over all of the models and getting photos with them, I might post them up later. I've been catching glimpses of Miranda Kerr too which is crazy and she is absolutely incredible! She was this far away from me!!

Editorial: The Night Frost (Papercut Magazine)

Hey guys!! I feel like I've abandoned my blog, but I promise I haven't, I've just been really busy!
First up, I'm now on instagram so you can hit me up there, the username is @itsamirror I'm still trying to figure out how to use it and my new (hand me down) iphone.
Second of all, I would love if you could check out the articles I've been doing for, you can see them here. That's kind of been using up a bit of my fashion blogging abilities which is why I've been a bit behind on here! In saying that I'm probably going to be blogging less than daily.
Anyway all ranting aside, here's an editorial for you. This one is called The Night Frost, photographed by Ivo Sekulovski for Papercut Magazine. The makeup was done by the model herself, Kalina Yaneva. I thought that was an interesting fun fact because usually there is a whole hair/makeup team involved. The main focus here is the gaga-esque wacky head piece. Hope you're having an incredible week! xxx
